What kinda blog is this?
Over the years, I’ve advised probably a dozen of my marketing clients to launch and maintain a blog. “It keeps your site from becoming static, it’s a reason for customers to visit more often, it’s an avenue for interacting with and rewarding clients, a way to put a spotlight on a specific product or service, etc.” I still believe all that. But of the dozen, probably half didn’t take my advice, half did, and maybe only two of the businesses that did build a blog still update it with any regularity. [Full disclosure: I’ve personally launched a handful of my own blogs and I’ve personally let many of them fall into disrepair before putting them out of their misery (i.e. letting the domain expire).] My point? Starting a blog is like putting on a new pair of shoes. Continuing to blog is actually running the marathon.
“Otherwords” is an attempt to open things up a bit, content-wise. I may post about marketing, advertising, and clients from time to time, but I’m also leaving the door open to other interests and pursuits. It’s a bit of an experiment but I hope the effect will not only be regular updates but maybe more interaction, visibility, and creativity.
Read. Enjoy. Keep me posted.
