How to Drink Beer: They Say When You're Married in June...

There are plenty of beer review blogs written by folks who know everything about AAUs, IBUs, and ABV. "How to Drink Beer" isn't about technical brew-how, it's about how to get the most out of your beer drinking (based upon how I get the most out of my beer drinking).

They Say When You're Married in June...

I Am: Dearly Beloved Blonde Ale & Meet Me At the Altar Amber Ale

I Am Best Enjoyed With: Wedding duds, thirty friends and family, too much good food to list, late-night dancing, and probably the best nuptials ever performed in my parents’ backyard. To top it off, few days before Adie and I got hitched, my brother and sister-in-law presented us with nearly a hundred bottles of this home-brewed amber and blonde ale, complete with homemade labels, printed in our wedding colors. (Yep, they thought of all the things I wouldn’t have).

You Think I Am: Lovingly prepared and perfect for overindulgence. The blonde ale, brewed with two whole grapefruits, was a wonderful answer to the warm September night and approximately 2.5 hours of sweaty, polyester-clad dancing on the patio. (We actually threatened to run out of the blonde before Micah nabbed a few to save for the sake of posterity). The amber, while heavier in flavor and higher in alcohol content, was a dose of malty goodness when paired with the barbecued tri-tip.

I Taste Like: Something I wouldn’t change for all the wheat in Eastern Oregon.
